June 23, 2021 – Parent Letter

June 23, 2021

Aloha Current ULS Parents and Guardians,

I hope you and your family are having a wonderful summer thus far and have been able to spend quality time together.  While there is still quite a bit of summer left to enjoy, it is time to start to prepare for the 2021-2022 school year.

I know that many families are anxiously awaiting news as to what school will look like in the fall.  ULS is planning to open for daily, in-person learning for the 2021-22 school year. We have been keeping up with the latest information from HIDOE, the Charter School Commission, and the state concerning the return to full in-person learning for all public and charter schools. We have also been in contact with the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa and received confirmation of our return to campus in the fall. We will be providing more information on the fall semester in July.

In the meantime, the documents contained in this packet which was mailed on June 23 and available on the Resources webpage will help us in planning and preparing for the new school year. There are a few updates in the packet regarding some of the changes we have made in order to follow current health and safety guidelines set forth by the DOH.

You can mail in or drop off all required documents and fees payment to the school office between the hours of 7:45am-3:30pm Monday through Friday excluding state holidays. If you have any questions regarding the documents in this packet, please email info@universitylaboratoryschool.org or call the school office at 956-7833. All documents and school fees must be received by July 16, 2021 in order for your child to attend school on the first day.
