Los Cenzontles, a band from San Pablo, California, has been spreading the sounds of authentic Hispanic music with a modern twist for over 17 years. Fortunately the students of ULS had the opportunity to listen and watch them perform live. Los Cenzontles consisted of six musicians that played traditional Mexican instruments, like the Cajon (box drum), the Quijada (jaw bone) and modern instruments such as the bass. They were also accompanied with a female singer and Hispanic dancers. Four of our own ULS students danced along with the songs of the Los Cenzontles and had a great time. It was a great performance to watch and good exposure to Hispanic music and culture.
